⚔ Loxley

Basic art. Brutal arena. Built on Robinhood Chain.

Not photorealistic. Not stock-art. Just crayon-simple deterministic pixel art rolled fresh on every mint by a 32×24 procedural generator. Same seed in, same outlaw out. 2000 outlaws in the drop, one 1-of-1 King for the dev. Mint, stake LAWS, fight other players for a 90/10 pot split, climb the leaderboard, try not to end up on the gallows. All on-chain on Robinhood Chain. Backend-signed duels for replay safety. The rarity shuffle is locked at deploy time so nobody can pre-compute their roll.

Crayon-simple on purpose. The fights are anything but.

The story

Rob the rich. Duel the sheriff.

Nottingham belongs to the Sheriff. He sets the taxes, keeps the ledgers, and keeps the biggest cut for himself. The rich pay him for protection, and his men make sure nobody poor forgets their place. Fall behind on what you owe and the guards come to your door. Fight back and you meet the gallows.

So you took to the greenwood instead. Out here the Sheriff’s writ runs thin. The trees are thick, the fires stay low, and the only law is who’s still standing at the end of it. You’re one of a couple thousand outlaws living rough in Sherwood, hoods up and quivers full, waiting on the next purse worth taking.

Every duel is a job. You find someone carrying more than you, you stake your share, and you settle it the old way. Win and you ride off with the pot. Lose three in a row and word gets around that you’re finished: the Sheriff’s men drag your outlaw to the gallows, and cutting them back down costs real coin. The greenwood doesn’t do charity.

Nobody’s coming to save you. No bots to farm, no house fighters padding your record. Every hood across the fire is a real outlaw who paid their way in, same as you.

Rob the rich. Duel the Sheriff’s men. Don’t get caught.

1. Set up your wallet

Click Connect Wallet top-right and pick from:

  • Browser Wallet, any EIP-1193 extension: MetaMask, Rabby, Brave Wallet, Frame. Point it at Robinhood Chain (details below) and you’re set.
On mobile? Open this site inside your wallet app’s built-in browser. Or, if you use MetaMask mobile, the picker offers an Open in MetaMask deeplink that loads the dapp inside MetaMask’s in-app browser.
Add Robinhood Chain to MetaMask
  • Network name: Robinhood Chain
  • RPC URL: https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com
  • Chain ID: 4663
  • Currency symbol: ETH
  • Block explorer: https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com

Or click Connect at the top-right. MetaMask will prompt you to add the chain automatically the first time.

Want to try without spending? Point your wallet at Robinhood Chain Testnet (chain 46630). A separate deployment runs there with the same code, test money, no risk.
  • RPC URL: https://rpc.testnet.chain.robinhood.com
  • Block explorer: https://explorer.testnet.chain.robinhood.com

2. Get some ETH

On Robinhood Chain you need real ETH to pay gas and mint. Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum L2, so you bridge ETH across from Ethereum. See docs.robinhood.com/chain for the current bridge and setup steps.

On Robinhood Chain Testnet (testing), grab free test ETH from the faucet:

Mint prices range $20 to $50 in ETH depending on which slot you grab (cheapest tier is the founders, slots 1-50 at $20). Duels cost pennies of gas. On testnet, everything is free.

3. Mint an outlaw

Head to /mint and pick how many you want (1, 2, 5, 10, or 20 at a time, up to 20 per transaction). Pricing is tiered, payable in ETH on Robinhood Chain:

  • Slots 1-50: $20 (founder)
  • Slots 51-100: $25 (founder)
  • Slots 101-500: $30
  • Slots 501-1000: $35
  • Slots 1001-1500: $40
  • Slots 1501-2000: $50

Mint money goes 100% to the dev wallet. No LP siphon, no buy/sell tax. $LAWS liquidity is pooled in full when the token launches and the LP is locked in the launchpad’s locker, so it can’t be pulled. Fight stakes are about $1 worth of LAWS each, or about $1.50 if you’d rather stake WETH or USDG, auto-rebalanced as prices move. Founders 1-100 pay 25% less per fight and get a free first resurrect.

Every outlaw is randomly generated with a name, stats, a weapon, and Loxley pixel art. The rarity and weapon order is shuffled and locked at deploy time, fixed and public before minting opens, so nobody can pre-compute which mint pulls a King.

★ FOUNDER 50 (token IDs 1–50), gold founder badge on your card forever. Top of the trophy case. Plus all FOUNDER 100 perks below.
★ FOUNDER 100 (token IDs 1–100):
  • Cheapest tier on the mint (slots 1-50 at $20, 51-100 at $25), never repeated
  • Bonus +20 LAWS airdropped on mint (on top of the standard 50, so 70 total)
  • 25% discount on every duel stake (7.5 LAWS/fight instead of 10)
  • First resurrection FREE. Your first death doesn’t cost ETH.
  • Cyan founder badge on every card (gold for IDs 1-50)
Bulk-mint discount. Buy in volume, get bonus outlaws free:
  • Mint 5 → get 1 bonus = 6 outlaws for the price of 5
  • Mint 10 → get 3 bonus = 13 outlaws for the price of 10
  • Mint 20 → get 7 bonus = 27 outlaws for the price of 20
⚀ Lottery. Every paid mint has a 1-in-2000 chance of dropping a free bonus outlaw in the same tx. The kind of luck you can’t buy.
Rarity distribution. 2000 outlaws in the drop plus 1 King:
  • Common: 1240 outlaws (Dagger, Quarterstaff, Mace)
  • Uncommon: 500 outlaws (Sword, Hunting Bow)
  • Rare: 200 outlaws (Crossbow, Flail)
  • Legendary: 40 outlaws (Flaming Sword, War Axe)
  • Epic: 20 outlaws (Longbow, Arbalest), rarest in the drop
  • The King: 1/1 (Golden Longbow, tokenId 2001), dev wallet only

4. Stats, weapons, and combat

Every outlaw has six D&D-style stats rolled on mint. Each affects how they fight:

  • Strength (STR): damage bonus and minimum damage floor.
  • Dexterity (DEX): to-hit chance, armour class, initiative order.
  • Constitution (CON): starting HP and armour class.
  • Intelligence (INT) / Wisdom (WIS) / Charisma (CHA): reserved for future content (spellcasting, crits, taunts etc). Safe to dump for now.

Combat is turn-based with simultaneous damage. Each round, whoever has higher DEX attacks first. Hits land when d20 + DEX ≥ defender’s armour class. Crits happen on 20s. First to zero HP loses. If both go to zero in the same round, it’s a tie and the pot splits.

5. Duel another player

Head to /duel and we’ll auto-match you against an outlaw near your Rating. If you own multiple outlaws, pick your fighter. Otherwise we lock in your only alive one. Don’t like the match? Hit Reroll opponent and we’ll find someone else.

The stake: pick your currency per fight. LAWS is the cheap way in (about $1 worth), or stake WETH or USDG at a premium (about $1.50 worth). That markup is deliberate: holding LAWS is the discount. Founder 100 outlaws pay 25% less in whatever currency they stake. Pots are mixed: whatever both sides put up, the winner takes 90% of it, in the exact tokens staked, and 10% goes to the dev treasury. On a tie each side gets their own stake back minus the dev cut. You need balance and a one-time approval in your chosen currency (the one-click fight button handles it).

When you click Fight, the server simulates the duel, signs the result, and your wallet pops up to confirm. Once you sign, the animation plays: intro stare-down, three feint strikes, then the real combat rolled from chain data. Stays on screen when it ends with the outcome, your new balance, and buttons.

6. Rating + leaderboard

Every outlaw starts at Rating 1000. Rating moves after every duel using the classic Elo formula. Win against someone higher rated and you climb fast. Lose to someone lower rated and you drop hard. The /leaderboard shows everyone ranked by Rating. The /history page has the full duel log. Each outlaw’s individual fight history is on their detail page.

7. Death and resurrection

Lose three duels in a row and your outlaw dies and goes to the /gallows. Dead outlaws can’t fight again until they’re resurrected. The cost scales with how tough your outlaw is and how many wins they’ve racked up:

cost = base × tierMult / 10 × (10 + wins) / 10

tierMult is 1× for Common, 1.5× Uncommon, 2.5× Rare, 4× Legendary, 7× Epic, 15× King. Base cost is set at deploy time to ~$10 worth of ETH on Robinhood Chain.

  • A fresh Common at 0 wins: ~$10
  • Uncommon at 3 wins: ~$20
  • Legendary at 5 wins: ~$60
  • Epic at 10 wins: ~$140
  • King (hopefully never): ~$150 base + win multiplier

The fight win streak resets on resurrection, so a dead outlaw re-enters the arena at their existing Rating but with their three losses still on record. They just can’t die again immediately.

8. Fully PvP: no bots, no house fighters

Every duel is player versus player. There are no dev-owned fighters sitting in the arena, no bots to farm, and no auto-resurrected punching bags. Every outlaw you face belongs to a real person who paid in, same as you.

You also choose who fights. Nothing enters the arena on its own: every outlaw you own sits benched until you send it in from the roster picker on the duel page. Enter three of your thirty, keep the rest safe at camp, add more whenever you like. Bench a fighter again any time. The duel signer enforces it, so a benched outlaw cannot be matched or killed, full stop.

The flip side: if the arena is empty, you wait. The duel page tells you when nobody is in your rating band and updates as outlaws enter. Rally a mate to mint one if the greenwood is quiet.

9. Marketplace: buy & sell outlaws

Any outlaw can be listed for sale on the /market page. Payments are in ETH on Robinhood Chain, NOT LAWS. LAWS stays reserved for duel stakes + open-market DEX trading.

How selling works
  1. Go to your outlaw’s detail page.
  2. In the Marketplace panel, enter a price in ETH.
  3. First time: click Approve & List. Two wallet popups (approve the marketplace to transfer the NFT, then list the price). Subsequent listings only need one popup.
  4. You keep the NFT in your wallet the whole time. Listing is approval-based, no escrow. Transfer it elsewhere and the listing auto-invalidates at buy time.
  5. When someone buys, 5% of the sale goes to the dev treasury and 95% to you. NFT transfers to the buyer, ETH lands in your wallet.

Seller actions on an active listing: Update price or Cancel. Cancel is always available even if the marketplace is paused by the dev for an emergency, so nothing gets stuck.

10. The King (1/1, tokenId #2001)

There’s one 1-of-1 outlaw, The King Outlaw. All stats at 18, starting Rating 2000, level 10, wields the Golden Longbow (50-100 damage, speed 10), sits on a diamond-blue background. Only mintable by the dev wallet, only ever exists once, sits above all rarity tiers.

If you meet him in the arena, expect to lose. If you beat him, expect the internet to talk about it for days.

11. Trust signals: what we ship to prove this isn't a rug

Loxley is a one-shot, fixed-supply project. We ship the guarantees that let you sleep easy:

$LAWS has no admin functions, from block one. $LAWS launches through a launchpad as a plain fixed-supply ERC-20. No whitelist, no blacklist, no trading switch, no owner to trust and nothing to renounce, because there was never a key in the first place. The game contracts hold zero power over the token: every game flow is a normal transfer you approve yourself. You can verify this on-chain.
LP locked at creation. The launchpad pools the entire supply on the DEX the moment the token is created and locks the LP in its locker. The dev never holds the liquidity, so the dev cannot pull it, on day one or any other day. Pool and lock links are published at launch, anyone can independently verify.
Game contracts stay dev-controlled (intentionally). The Duel, MintDrop, Graveyard, and Marketplace contracts stay owned by the dev wallet so we can tune game parameters (fight cost, mint price, fees) as the meta evolves. None of these contracts can mint LAWS, drain LP, or take user funds beyond the documented flows. Game tuning is not the same as rug capability.
No presale, no VC round, no hidden allocation. The entire supply goes into the public pool at creation. If the dev buys in, it happens in the open at launch, on the same terms as everyone else, and the wallet is disclosed. Exact launch numbers (supply, any dev buy, treasury) are published in the launch receipts before trading starts, with tx links.

12. Tips

  • Farm easy wins early. Match into the same Rating band. Don’t pick fights above you until your LAWS stack is deep enough to absorb a few losses.
  • Watch the combat log. Work out why you lost. Was it bad rolls, or was your opponent just statistically better? If your Dex is low, you attack last. That’s a structural problem, not bad luck.
  • Don’t die. Resurrection costs real ETH and Rating drops with every loss. Sometimes the right play is to stop dueling an outlaw who’s on a two-loss streak.
  • Batch mint. 20 mints in one tx only costs one gas fee. If you’re going to spend money anyway, go big.

13. FAQ

What happens if I lose my wallet?

Your outlaws are ERC-721 NFTs tied to the address. Lose the keys, lose the outlaws. Standard self-custody rules: write your seed down, store it offline, never paste it anywhere.

Can I transfer an outlaw to a friend?

Yes. On an outlaw's detail page, click Owner Actions → Transfer, paste their address. Standard ERC-721 safeTransferFrom.

Can I sell them?

Yes, both on the in-app /market (5% dev fee, ETH-denominated) and on any NFT marketplace that supports Robinhood Chain (token metadata at /api/token/[id] is OpenSea-spec compliant).

Is this safe?

Contracts are open-source. The rarity shuffle is fixed and public at deploy time, so it is provably fair. Treasury is a single EOA in v1 (will migrate to a Safe multisig before any contract upgrades). Don't paste seed phrases anywhere. This site never needs them.

Why does my first duel need two wallet popups?

The first time you duel from a wallet, you approve the Duel contract to spend your LAWS (one popup). Every subsequent duel only needs the submit popup. We bundle the approve and submit on that first click so there's no intermediate wait.

Why Robinhood Chain?

Cheap gas (a duel costs cents), fast finality, an ETH-native L2, and a fresh onchain community. The art is intentionally crayon-simple, the fights are not.

Why does the art look so basic?

On purpose. We're not chasing photorealism. Every outlaw is rolled by a 32×24 procedural pixel-art generator: same seed in, same outlaw out, no off-chain assets, no cloud. Crayon-simple and deterministic, and that's the point.

Who built this?

An independent dev team building on Robinhood Chain. Source will be opened progressively as the project matures.

Ready? Let’s go.

Connect your wallet from the nav bar above, bridge some ETH to Robinhood Chain (or grab test ETH for testing), mint an outlaw, and step into the arena.
